For many of us, Easter is not only a celebration of spring but also a time for the warmth of home, family gatherings, and cherished traditions. During this festive season, the table is filled with ham, horseradish, eggs - or their vegan alternatives. And of course, the soft, fragrant braided sweet bread, or kalács, is a must-have in almost every Hungarian household.
But what if someone is gluten or lactose intolerant - or simply wants to eat more consciously? Should they miss out on these treats? Absolutely not! With a little creativity and the right ingredients, your Easter table can feature a loaf just as soft and delicious as the classic version.
What does a mindful Easter mean?
Eating consciously doesn't mean giving up your favorite dishes - it simply means being more aware of what you’re putting on your plate. Fortunately, there are now more gluten- and lactose-free alternatives than ever, so there's no need to compromise on flavor or enjoyment.
With our gluten-free flour mixture, you can easily bake sweet bread, sponge cakes, or festive desserts. And by replacing traditional sugar with sweeteners like erythritol or coconut blossom sugar, you can even keep your blood sugar more balanced during holiday feasts.
